CHAPTER TWENTY NINE .. CATCHING UP!!!!

Tuesday, August 4th .. time to catch this blog up and show you what Ken and I have been doing in our "spare" time .. LOL!!!  But FIRST ..  a look at our nice, beautiful mud, dirt and weeds yard .. LOL!!!  It's not much to look at right now but one day this yard will be graded, sodded and landscaped!!    The last we talked to them they are supposed to get the yards of the new homes graded and sodded in September. 

Not very pretty right now .. but I did put a hanging basket of Petunias out front and they're doing pretty good so far!!! 

OH .. and Ken's Bonsai tree is out there too!!! 

And now .. come on in and take a look at what we have been working our buns off doing .. 

I am happy to say the Raggedy Ann & Andy collection has a "home" at last!!  They are right at the front door to greet you .. LOL!! 

Then comes the front bedroom .. we got a little bit done in this room .. and I changed the curtains .. but as you can see .. this is still our "stick it in here until you find a place for it" room!!!

This will be our Family wall .. lots more pics to put here .. when we find them all!!! 

 

And the Living Room .. 

REMEMBER .. I'm going for the "Nana's Farmhouse / Green Goose / Cracker Barrel"  look .. LOL!!  

 

Right through that door at the bottom of this picture is the Master Bedroom .. 

You might notice these curtains are different too .. I  had been looking for burgundy curtains from day one but gave up on finding them and bought the ones I had in here.  Finally found burgundy ones at the Lowes in Arnold Monday .. BUT .. they only had 2 toppers .. and only 1 panel and it was the one they had for a display!!!  Soooooo .. we went to the Lowes in Festus .. they had 1 panel and 2 toppers!!  I asked a gentleman there  to check and see  if any of the other stores had the panels and toppers  .. lo and behold .. the Lowes on Loughbrough had 4 panels and several toppers !!!!  So he asked her to hold onto 3 panels for us and put NOVAK on them .. and we were off  to Loughborough Avenue in South St. Louis to pick up the 3 panels and 2 more toppers and a set of double curtain rods!!  WHEW .. never in my life have  I had such a hard time rounding up curtains that I like .. Thank Goodness Ken is a patient man .. LOL!!

Of course you have to see the closet too .. 

I worked hard on this .. a place for everything and everything in it's place, right????  LOL LOL  LOL!!!  

And the Master Bath .. 

And now the kitchen .. 

 

The Laundry Room .. just had to show you that my ever so sweet and thoughtful husband gave me a place to hang my favorite broom and my dustpan!!!!!   The other door leads to the garage .. Hmmmmm .. I should have taken some pics  of it so you could see the work Ken has put into organizing things out there!!!  Next post!!!

The view of the deck from the kitchen .. can hardly wait until the weather gets cooler and we can spend more time out there .. the deck is probably my favorite spot!!! 

And now .. we venture down to the Basement .. travel at your own risk .. LOL!!   We're getting there but there's still a lot to do!!!

 

The bird houses will eventually go on a long shelf behind the couch when we get the walls built!! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Ken's Work Shop is in the area behind the the TV .. there will be a wall across here .. someday!!!  

 

A part of Ken's Work Shop and the Storage Area are in the area behind Ken's desk in the computer area .. there will be a wall across behind his desk with a wide barn type door in it!!  

 

And now .. our latest project .. the basement Bathroom ..

Wondering why he's painting it gray????  Seems like a pretty dumb choice .. BUT .. Liz came up with this "bright" idea of  making the bathroom "Kenny's Fishing Shack"!!!  So Kenny painted the Bathroom gray .. and then Liz splashed some black paint into the gray paint and began painting .. hoping for a grayed rustic olllldddd wood look .. it looked okay until it dried .. YIKES!!  I am definitely NOT Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV .. LOL!!! 

The black dried much too dark although I mixed it with the gray!!!

I spent today REPAINTING .. looks a little better .. right??????

 

Paint is dry .. time to decorate .. 

 We have a few more  plans for making it truly look like a fishing shack .. but work for today is DONE .. time to have a little Supper and rest .. OR peck away on your keyboard pecking away on your blog for a while .. LOL!!  

  So now you know why we've been so tired and grumpy lately .. LOL!!!  We've accomplished a lot and we're happy with what we've accomplished but we've got a ways to go before we're finished!!!  STAY TUNED .. LOL!!!  

Wednesday, August 6 .. Hard to believe I know but I actually remembered I needed to take some pics of the garage to add to this post .. 

 It's a little close .. but we actually get Mabel and Betsy both inside .. they should have made the garages just a tadbit longer!!  The people next door .. Bill and Anita .. had a truck with an extended cab when they bought the villa next door .. they had to trade it in for a smaller vehicle because it was too long for the garage!!!!  

 French toast is awaiting .. I'm outta here!!!
