CHAPTER FOUR .. GREAT NEWS AT LAST!!!

Thursday, the 21st .. our day started out with the Bread Company Bunch .. celebrating Leo's birthday!!!

I hope he remembered to make a wish .. LOL!!!

OK .. from left to right .. Bev, Liz, .. love that red nose Liz .. Nancy B, Shirley, standing .. Judy, Sharon, Laverne, Sylvia, Pat, Nancy O and Jeff .. sitting from left to right .. Leo, Bill, Ken, Rich and the red-nosed clown all alone on the front side of the table is Mel.  I'm trying to think who got missed at the other end of the table .. must have been Carl or Don .. Hmmmmmm!!!  By the way .. this was also Red Nose day .. thus the red noses .. LOL!!!

Jane n Paul and Anne Marie & Gary and their grandson didn't make it in time for the earlier pics so we got a pic of them with Leo later!!!

In case you're wondering why I have these pictures of the B'day party in my story about our big adventure .. because these people were keeping their fingers crossed and putting us in their prayers all through this nerve wracking ordeal of selling a house and buying a house and they're a part of my reason for doing this blog so they can keep up with what's happening as we go along .. so they are actually a big part of the story .. and I send out a big THANK YOU to all of them as well as all of you who have been so supportive!!!

While sitting at the Bread Company I got a message on my phone that the couple who had looked at the house the evening before had submitted a contract / offer on the house .. but it did not say how much they had offered!!!   After much pushing my friend Sharon (the ladies of the Bread Company Bunch were just as antsy to know what the offer was as I was .. LOL!!) I took my phone and went outside and placed a call to Lori to see what she had to say but of course got her answering machine!!  However, a few minutes later she called me back and gave me the news .. We were asking $224,900 .. they offered $210,000 with NO CONTINGENCY and they would pay closing costs etc.  We set up a meeting with Lori for that  evening and after talking things over we signed a counter offer asking $215,000 and they still pay the closing costs.  Our offer gave them until 1:00 the next day to accept or reject the offer.  However, we had just walked in the door at home when the phone rang and it was Lori .. the other realtor had gotten back to her already ..  they accepted our counter offer!!!  I can't tell you how excited we were .. and still are!!!

Next step is an inspection and an appraisal of our house for the bank where they are trying to get finanacing.   The inspection is now scheduled for this coming Friday at 9 in the morning. They want the closing to be by June 30th.  Lori talked to the realtor at Sawyers Ridge to see if it would be possible for us to move in by that time .. he said the house should be done but the sod in the yard and the landscaping would not be done.  We have also signed a contract on the Villa at Sawyers Ridge and paid our earnest money .. WoooooooHooooooo!!!

After our fun and excitement at the Bread Company .. and a bit more running around .. we of course went through Festus to check things out at Sawyer's Ridge and paid Butch a visit while we were there .. to tell him of more changes  and talk to him about the June 30th deadline .. drive him a little bit more crazy .. LOL!!!  Now we can feel that the villa is actually OURS!!!

When we last saw the house on the 19th the trusses were up .. now see what's been done ..

WOW!!  Things are moving very quickly .. it's amazing!!!

BUT WAIT .. there's more  .. they've also got the patio poured and the deck up!!!

Of course we had to get a look at the basement .. those up and down boards are where the stairs will be coming down ..

This area where the stairways comes down and the walk-out doors and window will be a TV / Family Room with a computer at the end by the stairwall.

Ken is pointing to where his workshop will be ..

The floor is wet because we had a heavy rain  before the floors and roof got put in!! The pipes sticking out of the floor are where the bathroom will become a bathroom ..

The small patio outside the walk-out doors ..

I don't know what this plant is but it smells wonderful!!!  I hope it's still out there and still smelling wonderful by the time things are finished and we get to sit out on our deck and take a whiff!!!

We went back the next day to see what was happening .. thought they might be putting the shingles on .. and the shingles were stacked at the top of the roof but they were working inside .. on the wiring etc.

OMG .. OMG .. OMG!!!  Picture us elated for now when we come out to check things out and take pics we actually feel that THIS IS GOING TO BE OUR HOME!!!!  Thank You Lord!!  My heart is pounding!!!
