CHAPTER THREE .. WE'RE HAVING AN OPEN HOUSE!!

Saturday, May 16 Raintree had subdivision wide yard sales .. we decided this would be a great time to have an Open House.   Lori said it went well and one couple was so interested they asked her to stay past the time she had set to close the Open House so their sons would have time to get here and look at it.  She said this couple is very very interested and their sons approved.. one of the sons even said "this is great" ..  but they have a house they will need to sell if they decide to buy it.    I'm happy to say she put Open House signs at every corner you had to turn to get here and some of them had a balloon on them .. although the rain kept the balloon from being up it was still noticeable .. we put balloons out by the mailbox too .. they also did not do well in the rain .. LOL!!!

I got a few pics of the balloons we put out before Ken and I took off for Festus  Saturday morning ..

As you can see it's very windy .. but at least it's not raining!!  When we left yesterday morning the poor balloons were almost on the ground because of the rain .. by the time we got home they were on the ground!!!

We went to the B & B Theater in Festus to see "Pitch Perfect 2" .. it was definitely not as good as the first "Pitch Perfect" movie. It wasn't terrible but it also wasn't worth the $8.00 apiece it cost to see it!!!

After the movie we went to Bob Evans for lunch / supper / whatever you want to call it .. it was after 3:30 so kind of both .. LOL!!  I ate waaaaayyyyy too much.  With their Breakfast meal you can get one of their "specialty Breads" instead of Toast and I love their Banana Bread .. so I ordered Eggs and Hash Browns and the Banana Bread.  AND ..

we both also ordered the Chocolate Caramel Mocha Coffee!!!  We'd never tried it before and it was Ken's idea .. bad idea because it was DELICIOUS and you get free refills so we both had 2 cups of it .. Yummmmmm!!!!  Between the Breakfast .. and the Banana Nut Bread .. and the Coffee I left feeling like a stuffed pig!!!

Sunday while Lori was doing the Open House we went to Sawyers Ridge to talk to Butch .. there were lots of decisions we needed to make if we were going to buy it!!!   While we were making our decisions and discussing things with Butch I got a text message from Lori saying "WOW!!!  Great turnout .. 9 buyers.  2 couples are very interested.  Praying something comes in soon".  Her words exactly!!!  She also left a note on the kitchen counter all excited about the great turnout!!!

Of course we stopped  by Sawyer's Ridge to see how things were going along the way .. they had been working on the floor of the garage ..

While there I also took a picture of the  villa next to the one we were buying.    Bill and Anita James live here .. actually they are in the process of moving into this one. When we were first talking to Butch about the Villa and the choices we were making I was finding it very difficult to picture things because the display home we had gone through .. the office is also there .. was the opposite of what ours would be for  the garage on ours would be on the left and the garage on the display home home was on the right.

While we were talking with Butch Anita came into the office for something and we visited and she invited us to come and go through their home so we could get a better idea of how our rooms would be situated for theirs was also one with a garage on the left. These people were sooooooo nice .. and they will be our next-door neighbors!!!!  This was a big help .. my brain was no longer spinning trying to figure out just how the inside of the one we wanted would look .. LOL!!!

Tuesday, the 19th .. this was Y day .. Fit For Life class.  We have become friends with a lady in the Fit For Life class who just happens to live in one of the villas at Sawyer's Ridge!!  As I told you earlier we had a lot of decisions to make for this new home we were having built .. one of those decisions was whether we wanted the gourmet kitchen .. with the raised bar with room for 2 bar stools and an extra upper and lower cabinet or the galley kitchen.  I had told Butch I wanted the gourmet kitchen like the one in the display home but had been going back and forth in my mind as to whether I really wanted that.  Some of us were discussing this as we sat sipping Coffee after our class and Caroline invited us over to see her home for she has the galley kitchen!!!  Sooooooooo ... of course we took her up on it and headed towards Sawyers Ridge after leaving the Y!!!  Of course we had to check on what was happening at Lot 20 B while we were there too .. LOL!!!

There was a huge crane in front of our place .. Ken thought they must be getting ready to put the trusses in for the roof but we found out later they were putting the floors in!!

These pictures were taken from in front of Caroline's home ..  just happens that her home is directly across the center area from ours!!! Until they build homes in the center area she will be able to keep tabs on us from her front doorstep .. LOL LOL LOL!!!

We took a quick drive through Sawyer's Ridge that evening before heading to Hillsboro and discovered they had started putting the trusses up ..

When we got home Tuesday I had an email from Realty Executive letting me know the people who had been interested in our home at the Open House wanted a viewing on Wednesday evening .. Yayyyyyy!!!!   Now we were REALLY excited!!!

Wednesday, the 20th .. The couple viewing our house had an appointment for 6:00 to 7:00 .. we spent the morning making sure everything was spiffy and shiny .. Ken mowed the yard .. I ran the weedeater .. then we got cleaned up and went to Cracker Barrel for Supper / Dinner.  We got back to the house about 10 after 7 and 2 vehicles were in the drive!!!  We drove round and round the roads of Raintree and came back .. the cars were still there!!  This made us very hopeful .. they must surely be REALLY interested if they were staying past there time!!  We could see them through the living room window standing at the island in the kitchen talking!!!  We made another drive through our roads and came back about 7:45 and the cars were still there .. we're really excited now!!!  We decided we would go to McDonald's in Hillsboro and have a cup of Coffee and come back .. when we got back at 8:30 the cars were gone.  We were very very full of hope when we dropped off to sleep that night!!!
