Ashley walked over to the house with us to check things out ..
The big long black thing is something new .. Ashley said it would be buried eventually!!!
THE GARDEN TUB .. we thought it was going to be a lot bigger than this!!!
We were able to get into the basement but the builders were working upstairs and had ladders everywhere so we left and went to Lowe's to try to look at bathroom tile and go bonkers trying to pick something out!!!
We were wanting to check out the tub again and to get a look-see upstairs to see what's changed so we went back after 4:00 so the builders would be gone and we could get nosey .. LOL!! Notice the vinyl siding is almost finished above the garage now ..
The door knob is not on the front door yet so we were able to go in through the front door .. the first thing we noticed .. this is the BIG SURPRISE ... THE FIREPLACE IS BRICKED IN!!!!
We hadn't expected the brick to be clear to the ceiling .. we were expecting brick and a wooden mantle about halfway up the wall!! I wasn't sure I was going to like it this way .. thought there was not going to be a mantle .. but when I got closer I noticed there are bricks coming out at mantle height and the mantle will go across them so I WILL have a mantle!!! I have come to like it .. I THINK!!!
As you can see everything is still a mess!!!!
Now for another visit to the basement to check out that bathroom and "garden" tub ..
The bathroom itself looks a lot smaller than we expected too!!!
We were greatly disappointed in the garden tub in the basement bathroom. We thought it would be much bigger and that the bathroom would be bigger. It's costing us $5,000 to have them put the bathroom in .. and then the tub was going to be an additional $400 and putting tile across the front an additional $350!!! We ended up talking to Tim .. the "main man" and Ken told him we were not happy with that tub at all and we wanted it taken out and their regular tub / shower unit put in .. that he was not paying $800 for a tub we don't want. Tim ended up telling us it could not be changed out .. BUT because he knew we were very unhappy with it he would not charge us the extra money for the tub and the tiling.
We noticed they have the middle posts up for the railing around the deck .. guess it won't be long before it's up!!!
THURSDAY, THE 11TH .. we went to Hopkins Flooring today to look at their bathroom tile .. this is where we went to choose our Hardwood, Carpet and Vinyl .. and found a tile we think we'll really like ..
The tiles look like brick and are 4" X 8" .. as I understand it from what the "main man" told me the tile will be across the front of the tub and part way up the wall around the tub.
Didn't take time to go to Sawyer's Ridge .. had to get home as the Electrician was coming to repair the GFCI outlets the inspector said needed repaired. Ken followed him everywhere he went .. he did have to make a change on one of the breakers in the circuit breaker box .. the breaker for the Whirlpool tub had 2 wires going into it and they're not supposed to do that. And one of the outlets outside the house did not work and one of them in the garage. We were greatly surprised when he told us what we owed .. only $120.00!!! Since this was a licensed electrician we had figured he would charge that just for driving out here .. we were expecting the bill to be much higher!!! Thank You Lord!!
