CHAPTER SIXTEEN .. TIDBITS!!

Just letting you know Tim called to verify that we had not picked out any colors for the walls.  They paint everything white on white .. if you want the great room painted a color other than that it is an extra $1700.00.   Don't know what the smaller rooms cost!!  We chose to stay with the white on white and will hire someone to paint later .. this will also give us some time to decide what colors we might want or if we even want anything a different color.  Tim said they would be doing the painting soon .. probably Monday.  When we talked to Steve at Hopkins Flooring the other day .. he said they would be putting the vinyl in the kitchen and getting the cabinets up .. hopefully starting Tuesday or Wednesday of this coming week!!!  We're getting there!!!!   Ken has talked to Carl (Bread Company) about hiring his son to do the painting  and Carl said it would be  a good while before he could do it as his schedule is pretty full right now .. but that works out great .. will give us time to figure out what we want!!! 

SATURDAY, JUNE 13

It was Friday when Tim called me about the painting of the place .. I thought he told me they "were getting ready to paint" .. how surprised we were to walk in Saturday and find the painting DONE!!  Looks like it's done anyway!!!

Besides all the painting Ken discovered they have laid the floor of the deck ..

Now they need to clean up the mess .. flooring needs to go down .. trim and doors need to go up .. cabinets, appliances, lightins, fans put up.  Furnace and Air conditioner are not in yet.  Nor the bathroom stools and vanities .. have a long way to go!!!  

We had decided Saturday would a FUN day .. after leaving Sawyers Ridge we headed towards "the city" for some "treasure hunting"!!  First stop was QT for a Hot Dog and Cappacino lunch .. LOL!!! 

Looking for cushions for the wicker .. found this at Gordman's and loved it!!!  Didn't buy it but if I discover a good spot for it in our new home we'll be making a trip back to get one!!!! 

We bought a set of cushions but didn't like them after I saw them on the wicker .. they will be returned and we will look further!!! 

We also went to an Antique Mall .. I found a couple of pictures I liked possibly for the fireplace .. we measured them and will measure the fireplace next time we go to Sawyers Ridge ..

We also went to "The Green Goose" again and to "The Village Green" in Affton .. a fun afternoon of doing a lot of looking and wishing .. LOL!!! 

If you grew up around Affton you can't leave the area without stopping at Ted Drewe's for Ice Cream ..

Two Turtle Sundaes .. Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Caramel and LOTS and LOTS of chopped Pecans!!!  Yummmmmmmmm!!!!!
