CHAPTER TWENTY .. TIME TO CATCH UP!!!

Things are moving right along at Sawyer's Ridge .. Saturday, the 21st we stopped in and discovered the painting of ceilings and walls is finished .. the electricians were busy .. the ceiling fans had been put in the bedrooms .. and outlets put in all around ..

The sinks are now in the Master Bath and Hall Bath ..

Sad to say we  discovered a PROBLEM in the Master Bath ..

The flange the toilet stool will be installed is practically on top of the vanity!!!!  

That was not the only problem we discovered .. the bags on the hearth of the fireplace are the doorknob assemblies for the inside doors .. they are the wrong ones!!!  We asked for round doorknobs and these are the lever ones!!!

AND I am not very happy with the kitchen cabinets .. most of the doors don't look good at all ..

You can't tell it very well in the picture but this one looks like it has dark drips across the top!

This one has 4 separate pieces of wood .. there are 4 doors like this one !!

This is a top cabinet .. the 2 doors don't look anything at all alike!

This one looks like it is wrinkled!!! 

This one looks like it has a bunch of scratches!!

I was very upset after getting a good look at these cabinets .. the doors look like factory rejects or seconds!!!  Ken went to the display house office and talked to Butch and he came down and checked things out and said that we would have to talk to Steve at Hopkins about the cabinets but he would tell Tim about flange and the door knobs.  Needless to say we were very upset when we left there to head back home!!

When we got home we got hold of Tim and set up an appointment to meet him at the house Saturday so we could tell him about the problems ourselves.  We got to the house before he did and saw that the electricians now had the light fixtures in also .. and the ceiling fan in the great room!!!!  

Tim said the door knobs on the hearth are for the villa attached to ours .. they hadn't gotten ours in yet.  He checked out the flange in the Master Bath and agreed it needed to be moved over about 8 inches .. he would take care of.  He checked out the cabinets .. I didn't expect him to do anything about them .. we had already planned to go to Hopkins and talk to Steve .. I told him this.  I just wanted him to see for himself what they looked like. He agreed that some of the doors needed replaced. 

We then ventured out to Hopkins to talk to Steve .. I showed him the pictures I took of the doors and he said we would get them replaced.  We are meeting at the Villa tomorrow afternoon and will see how many to replace etc.  

We felt much better after talking to Tim and Steve .. hopefully things will get corrected.  We got some news later that also did a lot to lessen the stress we have been feeling.  We have also been very stressed about the fact that we are supposed to close on our house on the 30th of this month .. and it does not look anyways near possible that we can be moved out by then.  Lori has been trying to get through to our buyers realtor to work out something giving us extra time to move but he has not been calling her back .. Arrrgggghhhhh!!!  We got a call from Lori last night telling us the buyers realtor had finally gotten back to her and they are giving us to July 12th to get our stuff moved out .. WHAT A RELIEF!!!  We have been going bonkers trying to figure out what we were going to do if the villa wasn't ready in time!!!  We instantly felt sooooooooo much better!!!! 

Wondering what we've been doing in our "spare" time besides driving around Sawyer's Ridge????  Packing .. and packing .. and packing .. and cleaning cabinets .. cleaning whatever we could clean so that much will be done!!!  Ken said I had to get some pictures of all the boxes .. so here you go ..

Whoops .. I forgot to get pictures of the boxes in the basement .. LOTS and LOTS of boxes down there too!!! 

Plans right now are to rent a BIG U Haul to move the boxes and small stuff .. Ken's kids and mine have offered to come out and help ... we're hiring movers to move the furniture and those heavy heavy things from Ken's workshop.  Main thing now is to decide WHEN we're doing this.  Still need to know when the villa will be ready .. so still a little bit stressful but not anyways near as bad as it was!!!! 

On that note .. I'm outta here .. time for a long hot soak in the tub .. Yeah .. yeah .. yeah!!!
